Elliot Sack participating in training for Infection Prevention and Telehealth at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi
Mr Elliot Sack, the CEO of eHealthGroup recently was hosted at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. With five centres of excellence, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is a state of the art medical institution and middle eastern version of US-based Cleveland Clinic’s. The hospital was developed for very specialized critical criteria and complex patient types from around the Emirates and GCC region.
The Cleveland Clinic is home to some of the most innovative healthcare technologies and provides best practice offering across a range of digital health solutions and infection control and prevention programs.
Mr Sack was able to meet with the heads of Cleveland Clinics telehealth program and learn more about how they are providing medical services and training from the US to anywhere in the world through a telemedicine platform. The training sessions also exposed the team to various aspects of how the Dubai Health Authority and various stakeholders in the Emirates and the Middle East are working on telehealth programs to improve healthcare services to the local populations as well as expats.
Mr Sack was able to get first-hand training and experience with the Infection Control team at the Clinic and learn about how they are rapidly improving infection rates in their hospital by leveraging UVC mobile technology. The technology utilizes certain wavelengths of UVC light which at certain distances and within certain times disinfects and breaks down the DNA of harmful pathogens like C Diff, CRE, Candida Auris and various other superbugs. The hospital has acquired 20 UVC machines from the global leading manufacturer of UVC technology, Clorox Healthcare and UVDI. The hospital has the machines being used 24/7, throughout the hospitals in OR, ICU, NICU, PICU, Oncology and other high-risk patient areas in the facility. “The Hospital Associated Infection crisis is becoming a global pandemic and it was really amazing to experience first-hand the most groundbreaking ways to combat these superbugs at Cleveland Clinic,” said Mr Sack an interview.
